An implementation of lean technology to improve the lead time of syrup batching process and reduce hot fill line downtime

The research would present an effective performance of lean tools implementing in Lemon Tea processing line a Drink Industry as case study. An improved strategy to reduce the lead time syrup batching process and then downtime on hot fill be considered well used. DMAIC (Define - Measure Analyze Improve Control) methodology followed. As results, was reduced from around 140 minutes (after implementation technology) 98 minutes, also dropped significantly by approximately 50 percent. Besides, production flow optimized minimizing several non value added activities such waiting at bottleneck points, machine breakdown, queuing time, other unnecessary time. Eventually, this study useful developing generic approach design environment management system studied drink industry organization.
